When acoustics and design go hand in hand
The Concert Hall in Stavanger, Norway, is not only an architectural hotspot, but is also considered one of the best acoustic halls in the world. Located 700 m from the historic city-center, the Concert Hall also offers an exceptional panoramic view of the harbour area, the islands and the mountain range.

Two worlds, one goal: the best acoustic experience
The Concert Hall consists of two parts, both in terms of its architecture and its use. The solid part of the building, made of burgundy brown concrete, houses the concert hall, which is specially designed to do full justice to acoustic music. It also houses the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra.
In contrast is the industrial part of the Stavanger Concert Hall, where steel and glass have been used primarily for the multi-purpose hall. This modular space – suitable for amplified music (from rock to opera) – offers countless possibilities: amphitheater, hall for fashion shows, concerts, dance performances, seminars, …
A roof adapted to the architecture
Like all other areas of the building, the flat roof was also perfectly finished. In order to protect this cultural jewel in the best possible way, the 6,000 m² roof was equipped with the two-layer waterproofing system from Derbigum. Derbicoat Artic, specially developed for Scandinavian climatic conditions, was chosen as the underlayer. And as the entire roof of the concert hall is covered with planting, it is not surprising that the Sandnes Tak AS applicators worked with Derbigum SP AR as the final layer.
